Why Dishwasher Pods Won't Dissolve: A Common Problem With Real Solutions
Nothing's more frustrating than opening your dishwasher after a cycle and finding an intact pod sitting at the bottom. If you're using the "quick wash" or "eco" cycle—which uses cooler water to save energy—pods struggle to dissolve. If this latch is broken, bent, or clogged, the pod stays locked inside and never gets exposed to the spray.
Look at the dispenser door—it should open easily when you press it. If it's stuck or won't snap back, that's your problem. Sometimes it's just caked-on detergent residue. Pod Placement Matters More Than You Think

Place the pod in the main detergent dispenser compartment, close the door firmly, and make sure nothing is blocking it from opening.
Hard Water and Mineral Buildup
If you live in an area with hard water, mineral deposits can coat the inside of your dishwasher and slow down the dissolving process. Over time, calcium and magnesium buildup makes it harder for pods to break apart efficiently.
